The 30 Dinner Project
The 30 Dinner project was launched on 9 June 2018 with the aim to inform and educate people about the importance of mental health and the stigma that surrounds all mental patients.
Objective
We aim to get rid of the Stigma surrounding Mental Health through a collective conversation over dinner throughout homes. We invite educating Pomona residents to speak about the “Importance of Understanding Mental Health Well Being” in a culturally competent way.

How do we do it?
Food is the best enticement to gather people for a get-together. Mental health is a topic that needs to be addressed openly as there has been a rise in mental stress and problems in modern times.
To make things worse, there is a huge stigma around mental illness all across the globe that further ails the patients and keeps them from healing. Therefore, we have started this community venture where we invite people for dinner and discuss mental stress and stigma over food.
We intend to bring to light the sigma surrounding mental health makes things even worse for the people suffering from it. We have to inform people about the ways to help and care for people suffering from mental health.
Most people, primarily Black and Brown, who live with mental illness have, at some point, been blamed for their condition. They’ve been called names. Their symptoms have been referred to as “a phase” or something they can control “if they only tried.” They have been illegally discriminated against.
Join us and contribute to our goal
We aim to inform people about mental health and the stigma surrounding it. Meanwhile, we wish to collect data and information from the people and communities who participate with us. We invite you all to be a speaker or a listener at one of our coming dinner get together.
Let us beat mental health disorders and stigma together.
